Another Year Older

Happy Thursday loves! I've been away, busy with a full week of work that led me straight into my vacation for my birthday, which left for no time what so ever to blog. But I'm back to reality and busy working away!

Sunday night after the Superbowl, we drove ourselves down to Anaheim to spend my birthday at the happiest place on earth! It's no known secret how much I love Disneyland. I feel like I pretty much mention this in every single post on here!

Last year I spent my birthday in the parks and decided it was a fun tradition to keep up with and did it all over again! Monday, I spent the entire day in the park and it was RAINY! Usually having a birthday in February means it will most likely be raining, as I remember many birthday parties as a child having to be postponed due to the weather. I was surprised that Southern California was actually raining the ENTIRE day. It wasn't pouring. It was more of a mist for the good part of the day, occasionally turning into rain drops and completely soaking my hair. But I still had a blast!

Of course I had to snap a photo in front of the castle!

First ride of the day was Roger Rabbits Cartoon Spin! One of my favorite rides there. Of course walking right out of the ride, you can't resist being silly with all the fun stuff Toontown has to offer.

I received the cutest Minnie Mouse ears ever! They are Star Wars ears and my heart couldn't be any happier. I had to snap a pic in front of this famous wall to show them off.

After riding pretty much every ride in the park (most were closed due to weather or being refurbished) it was time to get to the hotel for some rest. My hair in this photo was completely soaked as it stopped raining for a hot minute and we saw that Big Thunder Mountain was finally opened, so we went on that ride! After the first drop, it started pouring while we were still on the ride. Once it came towards the end, we were drenched!

After drying off and resting for about 2 hours, we headed to California Adventure for some more fun and food! This weather called for some soup and they have some pretty decent clam chowder. Of course I'm spoiled and go to Monterey all the time for the best clam chowder ever, this one is just fine when its freezing and you just want to eat a whole loaf of bread! Notice the concentration...Also side note: you can ask for your soup "on the side" so it doesn't make your bread soggy. I hate wasting my bread and end up taking the leftovers home with me.

This place just makes me so happy. It was sort of busy for a Monday during the off season, but the longest line we waited on was about 15 minutes, everything else was walk on! Also super impressed with the Canon 5D Mark IV. I mean it makes night time photos look amazing.

We had to say hello to our friend Lighting McQueen! Then headed to Mater's Junkyard Jamboree. That ride ALWAYS makes me laugh!

After a busy night in the park, we headed back to Disneyland just in time to catch the Main Street Electrical parade. My oh my did that bring back some childhood memories! Once the park closed, we walked into the candy store on Main Street and picked out some cute candy apples since we didn't have a birthday cake. I'm obsessed with their candy apples as they truly just never disappoint.

On our way out of town the next day, we ventured to Santa Monica and spent about 2 hours there, roaming the beach and pier. It was the first time I've ever walked on that pier. I've always driven by and I've only walked around Venice Beach, which is quite a ways down the path. We were lucky it wasn't a busy Tuesday there as we got to swing on the swings near Muscle Beach. We took some cute pictures that I'll be posting on Instagram soon.

I can't wait to go back in a few months to enjoy more adventures! I felt like I was in such a good place while I was there, that I didn't want to come back to reality.

Until next time.
